Privacy Policy

Aeterna Platforms, Inc. (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the METIVAR port decarbonisation intelligence platform (“the Platform”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our Platform.

By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information. Your name, email address, job title, and organisation name, provided when your account is created.
• Port and facility data. Operational data you enter into the Platform, including emissions figures, fleet information, energy consumption, and facility characteristics. This data belongs to you.
• Usage data. Information about how you use the Platform, including which modules you access and when you last logged in. We use this to improve the Platform.
• Authentication data. Login credentials managed by Clerk, our authentication provider. We do not store passwords. Clerk's privacy policy governs authentication data.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and operate the Platform
• To save and restore your port data between sessions
• To send you notifications about regulatory deadlines and platform updates relevant to your port
• To respond to demo requests and support enquiries
• To improve the Platform based on usage patterns

We do not sell your data. We do not use your port data to train machine learning models. We do not share your data with third parties except as described in Section 4.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your port data is stored in a secure database hosted by Supabase on servers located in the United States (US East region). Access is protected by row-level security — each user can only access their own organisation’s data.

We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Authentication is handled by Clerk, which maintains SOC 2 Type II compliance.

Despite these measures, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the Platform:

• Clerk — authentication and session management. Privacy policy
• Supabase — database hosting. Privacy policy
• Vercel — application hosting. Privacy policy
• Resend — transactional email delivery. Privacy policy
• Anthropic — AI-powered analysis features. Data submitted to AI features may be processed by Anthropic. Privacy policy

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and port data for the duration of your licence agreement. If your licence lapses, your data is retained in read-only mode for 30 days, after which you may request export or deletion.

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at the address below.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• The right to access the personal data we hold about you
• The right to correct inaccurate personal data
• The right to request deletion of your personal data
• The right to export your port data in a machine-readable format
• The right to object to processing of your personal data

7. Cookies

The Platform uses session cookies to maintain your login state. These are strictly necessary for the Platform to function and cannot be disabled. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

8. Children

The Platform is intended for professional use by port authorities, terminal operators, and port tenants. It is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by displaying a notice in the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
